浜崎 あゆみ Ayumi Hamasaki 浜崎歩

Ayumi Hamasaki (em japonês: 浜崎 あゆみ Hamasaki Ayumi, também 浜崎歩) - nascida em 2 de Outubro, 1978 em Fukuoka no Japão, é uma cantora/compositora e atriz. Também chamada de Ayu por seus fãs, Ayumi é considerada a "Imperatriz do J-Pop" graças a sua popularidade e influência no Japão. Nascida e criada em Fukuoka, ela se mudou para Tókio aos quatorze anos para iniciar sua carreira no ramo do entretenimento. Em 1998, sob a tutela da Avex CEO Max Matsuura, ela lançou uma série de singles que acarretaram em seu primeiro álbum em 1999: A Song for XX. O mesmo chegou ao topo da lista da Oricon (parada oficial de álbuns, singles e vídeos musicais mais vendidos do Japão) onde permaneceu por quatro semanas, estabelecendo sua singular popularidade no Japão.


O seu estilo único de música e visual levaram com que seu sucesso alcançasse à maioria dos países da Ásia como China, Singapura, e Taiwan. Devido a tal fato, ela ou seus singles tem aparecido constantemente em propagandas de grandes empresas. A Honda, por exemplo, utilizou um de seus singles para o comercial do carro Honda ZEST. Embora ela tenha apoiado inicialmente o uso de sua popularidade para fins comerciais, hoje se coloca contra a Avex utiliza-la como um "produto".


Desde sua estréia em 1998 com o single "poker face", Ayumi vendeu mais de 50 milhões de discos apenas no Japão, tornando-a a artista que mais vendeu discos no país. Como cantora, Ayumi Hamasaki possui diversos recordes no mundo da música, tais como o maior número de singles em primeiro lugar na Oricon, maior número de singles consecutivos em primeiro lugar na Oricon, maior número de dicos vendidos e maior número de "milhões de discos" vendidos. De 1999 a 2010, Hamasaki teve pelo menos um de seus singles no topo das vendas. Além disso, ela é também a primeira cantora a ter 10 álbuns estúdio que lideraram a Oricon. É também e a artista com os singles mais vendidos na história do Japão (Cerca de 40 milhões de cópias vendidas desde sua estréia em 1998).
